What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a natural approach to skincare with an emphasis of promoting beauty from the inside out. A safe and alternative approach to Botox and fillers. One that can eliminate fine lines, soften deep wrinkles, promote the production of collagen and elastin, improve muscle tone to reduce appearance of sagging, reduce puffiness & improve the overall appearance of skin.

Did you know that what we eat, think and stress about shows up on our face? Our face is a storehouse of our emotions. That which we feel internally (joy, grief, anger, fear) will manifest externally (hello ,wrinkles). Diets high in sugar, gluten and dairy are proinflammatory and can create heat in the body, which can cause acne/rosacea. As we age, we lose muscle tone, have a reduction of blood flow and precious body fluids- this will all affect all aspects of appearance (dull complexion, dry skin, puffiness, sagging, drooping, discoloration, sunspots).

Cosmetic Acupuncture can strengthen our facial muscles, increase local blood/lymph circulation, improve our physical health, support our emotional well-being and leave us looking & feeling positively radiant! As an added bonus, Cosmetic Acupuncture may contribute to the reduction of TMJ, headaches and sinus congestion. Each treatment is custom- created for each individual and seeks to boost their overall health and meet their cosmetic goals. During the treatment we will be using tiny filiform (hair-thin) needles along the body, neck and face to get the blood and energetic pathways of the body flowing. The needle insertion is gentle and should not elicit a painful response. Other techniques that may be included are:

  • Guasha, Jade Rolling & Cupping to promote lymphatic drainage, release taut muscles to reduce tension & achieve a sculpted look

  • Microcurrent stimulation to tone, lift and contour the aging- skin

  • Led Light Therapy: reduce acne, address wrinkles & uneven skin tone

All of these holistic skin care treatments will help you feel bright eyed & bushy tailed without harmful side effects, because no one should have to choose between their beauty and their health.

How many treatments will I need?

While 1 single treatment can yield great short-term results (glowing & lifted skin), lasting results are more likely to occur in a series of 10-12 treatments. Treatment frequency is approximately 1-2 treatments a week, with a 1x a month maintenance appointment. During the assessment we will be able to come up with a customized protocol for you.

I have recently had Botox, fillers, a chemical peel or laser resurfacing, can I still get Cosmetic Acupuncture?

There is a wait period, and here is the recommended timeline:

  • Cosmetic Injections/Fillers -> 3-6 Months

  • Chemical Peel / Laser Resurfacing -> 1 month
